Special Show from Yul shows us a light side of music

Yul Emir AKA Yul Emirali is a London based piano/keyboard player who has been playing for around 26 years. See him performing live in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I-aSaxM_kU.

He has developed a compositional and improvisational jazz piano style by doodling for long periods on a keyboard and playing with many people. This style continues to develop as he doodles and plays, producing fecund wet patches, which at times can produce some extremely undesirable moments.

He was one of the first people to be on the internet with a sax lead jazzy funky quartet called NE Key included in this weeks mix, along with Bonobo (www.musicunsigned.com) in 2001 back in the days when internet music was in nappies and music was submitted for criteria perusal.

Since then studio work has taken precedent.

His 2004 Album Keyboard Tuition can be heard at www.last.fm/music/Yul+Emir
New EP coming soon

Please view the link below to sample Yul Emir’s work as a composer. He enjoys writing to picture and is extremely adept at providing any style required.
